Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the DB Copilot website and any Early Access services we make available.
Last updated: 25 August 2026
1. About DB Copilot
DB Copilot is a SQL Server software product developed and operated by Ackeyon Technologies Limited and is currently being prepared for Early Access.
These terms apply to your use of the DB Copilot website and any Early Access-related services we make available.
Additional licence, subscription and service terms may apply when commercial versions of DB Copilot become available.
2. Using this website
You may use this website for lawful business and professional purposes relating to DB Copilot and its services.
You must not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;
- introduce malicious code, viruses or other harmful material;
- interfere with the availability or security of the website;
- use automated means to abuse or overload the service; or
- use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
3. Early Access
Early Access features may be incomplete, experimental or changed without notice.
We may add, modify, suspend or remove Early Access functionality as development progresses.
Participation in Early Access does not guarantee access to any particular future feature, commercial plan or release date.
4. SQL Server analysis and recommendations
DB Copilot may analyse SQL Server metadata, workloads, execution plans and related diagnostic information in order to generate findings and recommendations.
Recommendations are intended to assist qualified SQL Server professionals. They should not be treated as guaranteed instructions or applied automatically without appropriate review, testing and change-control procedures.
You remain responsible for assessing whether any suggested query, index, configuration or database change is appropriate for your environment before implementing it.
5. AI-assisted functionality
Some DB Copilot functionality may use artificial intelligence to explain database behaviour, summarise evidence or suggest possible actions.
AI-generated output may occasionally be incomplete, inaccurate or inappropriate for a particular environment. You should independently review and validate AI-generated recommendations before relying on them.
6. Your data and database environments
You are responsible for ensuring that you have appropriate authority to connect DB Copilot to any SQL Server environment and to provide any information submitted to the service.
You must not provide credentials, confidential information or production data to DB Copilot unless the relevant feature is specifically designed to receive that information and you are authorised to provide it.
Our handling of personal information is described separately in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the DB Copilot website, software, branding, interface, documentation and original content are protected by applicable intellectual property rights.
Access to DB Copilot does not transfer ownership of the software, source code, branding or underlying technology to you.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the website and Early Access services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Services may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, development, technical faults or circumstances outside our control.
9. Third-party services
DB Copilot may rely on or integrate with third-party services, infrastructure or APIs.
We are not responsible for the availability, content or operation of third-party services outside our control.
10. Limitation of liability
DB Copilot is intended to assist database professionals and does not replace professional judgement, testing, monitoring or appropriate change-control procedures.
To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that DB Copilot will identify every performance, reliability, security or database issue, or that any recommendation will produce a particular result.
You remain responsible for reviewing and testing recommendations before applying changes to a database environment and for maintaining appropriate backups, recovery procedures and deployment controls.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as DB Copilot develops, including when new Early Access or commercial functionality becomes available.
The latest version will be published on this page together with the date it was last updated.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction in relation to disputes arising from these terms or your use of the DB Copilot website and Early Access services.
